Bonding Sparkles The procedure will already be familiar to you.
  1. Prepare the tooth for bonding like any resin retained restoration.
  2. Process To Attach Sparkle
  3. Clean the tooth with pumice, a prophy jet or sandblaster.
  4. Etch the surface area larger than the Sparkle.
  5. Rinse and air dry.
  6. Apply bonding to the etched enamel.
  7. Thin with a stream of air.
  8. Light Cure: 10 sec.
  9. Apply a flowable composite onto the tooth.
  10. Carefully place the Sparkle onto the center of the composite.
  11. Smooth out excess material around the Sparkle: leave composite thicker at the edge of the Sparkle, gradually thinning it out for 1 1/2 - 2mm away from the edge. Note: The mechanical lock of the Sparkle into the resin is the key.
  12. Check to make sure the Sparkle is in contact with the enamel.
  13. Light cure the lingual surface of the tooth. 20 sec.
  14. Finish curing from all angles on the labial surface. 20 sec/each angle.
  15. Polish edges of the composite with rubber points to eliminate any edges.

Sparkle Removal
The removal technique is approached in the same way as removing a bracket from a tooth.
  1. First polish off any composite.
  2. The tooth will then be polished with pumice and only the bonding agent, not the tooth enamel, is removed.
